The Modern School Grammar of the Greek Language follows a new grammar approach, resulting from Professor G. Babiniotis’ 40 years of study of the Greek language. It is intended primarily for students and school teachers, but also for every speaker, eager to inquire, grasp and investigate the multi-faceted world of the Greek language.
The Modern School Grammar of the Greek Language:
a) is based on modern linguistics methods
b) examines both grammar and syntax
c) is built on the two language ‘pillars’, verb and noun
d) puts emphasis not only on forms, but primarily:
– on structures and their function (structural-functional method)
– on how and why we use them, depending on our communicative intention (communicative approach)
e) contains a detailed chapter on the ‘world of language’
